CLICK HERE FOR GALLERY 1 SATURDAY 17th JANUARY Departed London Heathrow (Terminal 1) British Midland BD481, 09.05 to Madrid arriving at 12.05 local time. Madrid, Aerolineas AR1137, 15.00 to Buenos Aires Ezieza International Airport arriving at 22.45 local time. (Flight time 11hrs 45mins). SUNDAY 18th JANUARY Cleared customs/collected bags and met by Sergio Corbet with his son with two hired cars from Europcar. Delivered to Loi Suites, Arenales for short rest before being met at 05.00 to travel north of Buenos Aires and bird all day at Otamendi and the Ceibas area. Delivered back to Loi Suites, Arenales near Jorge Newberry internal airport for overnight stay. MONDAY 19th JANUARY Departed Buenos Aires at 07.20, Aerolineas AR1814, arrived at Trelew at 09.00. Collected two cars after considerable delay obtaining authorization from Visa. Made a short visit to the large Trelew lagoons before driving north to the San Antonio Oeste area via Puerto Madryn and Islas de los Pajaros at the start of the Peninsula Valdes. Stayed overnight at Las Grutas in the cars after failing to find any accommodation due to holiday period. TUESDAY 20th JANUARY Birded the area around Las Grutas from dawn until mid morning before returning south to bird the start of Peninsula Valdes area. Visited the marsh at Treorchy near Gaiman. Overnight at Unelem Hotel, Gaiman. WEDNESDAY 21st JANUARY Birding at Treorchy Marsh from dawn before departing Trelew at 08.50, Austral Lineas Aereas, AR2802, arriving at El Calafate at 10.41.

CLICK HERE FOR GALLERY 2 WEDNESDAY 21st JANUARY Collected from El Calafate airport at 10.45 by Santiago Imberti and his mate Lucqui in two 4x4s and headed straight to the Hooded Grebe site on the Strobel Plateau. Overnight at Estancia La Angostura. THURSDAY 22nd JANUARY Spent the morning searching for Austral Rail at the estancia before the long return to El Calafate. Visited Lago Argentino and Lago Nimes. Overnight at Cabanas Nevis in El Calafate. FRIDAY 23rd JANUARY Left cabins at 05.00 and spent the morning at Los Glaciares NP reached by remis (taxi) and use of Lucqui's 4x4. Just about managed to get back to the airport in time for our flight at 12.13, Aerolineas AR1892, arriving at Ushuaia at 13.28.

CLICK HERE FOR GALLERY 3 FRIDAY 23rd JANUARY Met Javier Piatti in Ushuaia airport at 13.30 and collected two hire cars from Europcar. Arranged Beagle Channel boat trip then birded the area around Ushuaia for rest of afternoon. Overnight at Piatti B&B in Ushuaia. SATURDAY 24th JANUARY Spent the morning at the Martial Glacier before the afternoon boat trip up the Beagle Channel towards Estancia Harberton. Overnight at Piatti B&B in Ushuaia. SUNDAY 25th JANUARY Met up with Esteban Daniels and spent the morning in Tierra del Fuego NP before a boring and very uneventful drive north to Rio Grande via the Garibaldi Pass for rest of the day. Overnight at Piatti B&B in Ushuaia . MONDAY 26th JANUARY Spent the morning with Esteban to revisit the Tierra del Fuego NP before departing Ushuaia at 14.03, Aerolineas AR1892, arriving at Buenos Aires 17.28. Caught transfer bus to our accommodation at Loi Suites, Arenales in Buenos Aires.

CLICK HERE FOR GALLERY 4 TUESDAY 27th JANUARY Spent the whole day at Costanera Sur, with Sergio Corbet in temperatures up to 35C. DRWG and MCP transferred back to Buenos Aires Ezieza International Airport, Aerolineas AR1134, 22.10 for Madrid. (Flight time 11hrs 40mins). RMA, AB, PB and JH again stayed overnight at Loi Suites.

CLICK HERE FOR GALLERY 5 WEDNESDAY 28th JANUARY Left Buenos Aires Jorge Newberry on Aerolineas Argentinas AR1724 at 10.45. Arrived Iguazú and met by our guide/car hire man Fernando Nunez - picked up hire car and drove to Orchideas Palace Hotel, Iguazú. Spend the rest of the day exploring the hotel gardens and visited the Jardin des Picaflores. THURSDAY 29th JANUARY Up before first light, and taken by Fernando to Wanda (south of Iguazú). Birding at Urugua-í Provincial Park en-route back to Iguazú in the afternoon and walked a trail near the entrance to the National Park. FRIDAY 30th JANUARY Spent all day in the National Park - arrived in time for opening at 08.00, then did the Macuco Trail in the morning, and visited the Upper and Lower Circuits in the afternoon. SATURDAY 31st JANUARY Again, in the park at 08.00. Took the train to Garganta del Diablo station, then walked back to the entrance. Lunchtime back at the Orchideas Palace Hotel, then again did the trail near the park entrance for the last time, as we were told that it was out of bounds. MONDAY 1st FEBRUARY Taken by Fernando to Gruta India. Stopped off at the Jesuit Ruins of San Ignacio Mini on the way back to Iguazú, then spent the rest of the afternoon at the Jardin des Picaflores. Birded the road opposite the hotel before dusk. TUESDAY 2nd FEBRUARY Back in the National Park at 08.00 - did the Macuco Trail, and spent the rest of the day in the park. Returned to the Orchideas Palace Hotel, and after dusk looked for nightjars and potoo on the road opposite the hotel. WEDNESDAY 3rd FEBRUARY Again at the National Park for 08.00 - did the Lower Circuit, and then the Macuco Trail. Returned to the Orchideas Palace Hotel, and again did the track opposite the hotel at dusk. THURSDAY 4th FEBRUARY Walked the entrance road to the National Park before it opened, then back to the Orchideas Palace Hotel for breakfast and to check out. Spent an hour at the Jardin des Picaflores before being dropped at Iguazú Airport. Aerolineas Argentinas flight AR1729 to Jorges Newberry, Buenos Aires, then transferred to Ezeiza for flight AR1132 to Madrid. FRIDAY 5th FEBRUARY Spent most of the day at Madrid airport, waiting for our connecting BMI flight BD486 to Heathrow at 20.00.
