As well as one of the biggest bird lists of any inland UK site, Chew has a good variety of insect and plant life around its shores. Although no other groups is as closely studied as the birds, the lists below are fairly complete. Casual observations and ecological surveys have provided the bulk of the observations; only the moth list can be regarded as having a large number of omissions.
